It’s been a minute since we’ve properly introduced ourselves and with so many new faces (and a fancy new website!) we figured it was past time to do so. So, allow us to reintroduce ourselves: Hi, we’re Kerrville and we’re open for business.
Kerrville is located in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. With a population of roughly 25,000, we may be considered a small town but we pack a big punch! Here are a few ways to discover what makes our town so special:
Local Sights and Sounds
One of the most interesting upcoming events in Kerrville? Not one but TWO solar eclipses are slated to happen within the next 13 months. An annual solar eclipse will take place October 14, 2023 and a total solar eclipse will take place April 8, 2024. The fourth annual Kerrville River Festival is scheduled to take place during the annual solar eclipse, offering programing to celebrate the exciting celestial event. A few short months later, Kerrville is preparing to welcome the greatest number of guests ever experienced in the community. Out of the 13 states where the total solar eclipse will be visible, Texas will provide the best views for eclipse fanatics to experience total darkness. The centerline of a total solar eclipse is where totality, or complete darkness, will last the longest during the event. Kerrville’s proximity to the centerline, proximity to a major interstate, and mild year-round weather make it a prime spot for eclipse viewing and the town is preparing accordingly. Kerrville established an ad hoc committee consisting of all relevant department heads to ensure every last eclipse visitor has a great time enjoying the solar sensation.
Kerrville Folk Festival – A Taste of Hill Country
The Kerrville Folk Festival is one of the most anticipated events every year in all of Texas. Bringing together over 30,000 residents and visitors over an 18-day period each spring, the Festival features dozens of singer-songwriters. Each evening features a live concert with a headlining folk music act and each day is filled with children’s activities, songwriter competitions, various musical instrument workshops, and canoe trips down the rolling Guadalupe River. The Kerrville Folk Festival can’t be missed and is a great way to experience what makes Kerrville so special and such a great place to call home.
