How Kerr County is Growing in 2025: A Sneak Peek

Get Ready, Kerr County: Big Things Are Coming in 2025

As the new year approaches, Kerr County isn’t just hanging up twinkling lights and counting down to midnight—we’re gearing up for a transformative 2025. From new business expansions to infrastructure projects that promise to elevate our community, there’s plenty to be excited about. So, grab a mug of cocoa and let’s unwrap what’s on the horizon for Kerr County.

1. Megaacrete’s $40 Million Manufacturing Plant: Building the Future

One of the biggest stories of the year is Megaacrete’s decision to open its U.S. headquarters right here in Kerrville. This $40 million investment includes a state-of-the-art 120,000-square-foot facility near the Kerrville/Kerr County Airport. Set to open in 2025, this advanced manufacturing plant will not only produce sustainable building materials but also create 40 high-quality jobs initially—with projections for 180 more indirect roles in the years to come.

What’s more, Megaacrete’s commitment to sustainability and cutting-edge construction technology positions Kerr County as a leader in innovation. It’s an economic boost that extends beyond the plant itself, benefiting local suppliers and the broader community.

2. EIC-Funded Infrastructure Enhancements: Laying the Groundwork for Growth

The Kerrville Economic Improvement Corporation (EIC) has been hard at work on multiple infrastructure projects designed to enhance quality of life and attract new businesses. A standout is the $5 million investment to modernize roadways and utilities in key growth areas. These upgrades aim to support both current residents and future developments, creating a foundation for sustained economic expansion.

As former Mayor Judy Eychner highlighted, “These investments prepare us for the influx of business and residential growth while maintaining the charm and functionality that Kerr County residents value.”

3. Supporting Local Entrepreneurs and Small Businesses

Looking ahead, 2025 will see an even greater emphasis on supporting Kerr County’s small business community. Programs spearheaded by the Kerr Economic Development Corporation (KEDC) aim to provide resources like workshops to help entrepreneurs flourish. From budding tech startups to beloved local shops like Gibson’s, Kerr County’s focus on fostering innovation ensures that small businesses remain at the heart of our community.

A Bright Future Awaits

As we enter 2025, Kerr County’s growth trajectory is proof of what can be accomplished through strategic planning, community collaboration, and a shared vision for progress. From Megaacrete’s groundbreaking plant to infrastructure investments that pave the way for tomorrow, there’s much to celebrate—and even more to look forward to.

Let’s raise a glass (or two) to a year of opportunities, innovation, and success. Here’s to 2025, Kerr County!
